Oddity Road
Music Video
What was the aim?
Why Am I Like This?
We worked with Luke Thompson as Director on this music video for ‘Why Am I Like This’ by Oddity Road.
The Director’s treatment was to show how everyone is different, yet goes through the same struggles of self-doubt. The style he wanted was clean and high key, creating a lighthearted mood for the music video.
How did we do it?
Big lights and a white cyc.
Peak Reach provided Director of Photography services for this music video shoot.=.
To light up to 16 people in the shot well, a 12 x 12 ultrabounce was hung over the talent with 2 x Arri M8s blasting into it to add to ambient light. 2 x M40s were then bounced off boards to light the back wall evenly and add more ambient, with then 3 point lighting set up with Aputure LEDs. A mixture of handheld and fixed tripod shots were used depending on pace of song.
Take a look at our results.
New fans and new plays.
The video was posted across a variety of social media channels and used as promo for BBC Radio 1 shout outs. The music video helped the band to continue to establish themselves and earn new fans with their music.
